Your two-day journey from Marrakech to Zagora will begin at 8:00 a.m., when our guide picks you up from your hotel. On the way to Zagora, we’ll pause to take in the breathtaking views of the High Atlas Mountains, traveling through the Tizi-n-Tichka pass. At 2,260 meters, this is Morocco’s highest road, offering stunning vistas stretching far into the distance.
Continuing our journey, we’ll arrive at the impressive Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah. This historic site, built by the powerful Glaoui family in the 16th and 17th centuries, showcases the beauty of Moroccan earthen clay architecture. Recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987, Ait Ben Haddou has also served as a filming location for movies like Prince of Persia, Gladiator and Game of thrones.
We’ll stop here for lunch in the ancient kasbah before heading toward the Draa Valley. Along the way, we’ll cross the Tizi N’Tnifift pass, at 1,660 meters, once part of the historic caravan route for traders arriving from Timbuktu. The Draa Valley is home to Morocco’s largest palm grove, offering remarkable views that echo the spirit of the old caravan routes.
Finally, we’ll arrive in Zagora, a gateway to the Sahara Desert. Here, you’ll embark on a camel ride into a magical desert landscape, where you’ll enjoy an authentic berber amazigh dinner. Spending the night under the stars, with live music as your backdrop, completes this unforgettable desert experience
